The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess Donghua Series Reveals New Japanese Trailer, More Cast & Theme Songs featured image

A new main trailer, more cast, and theme songs have been revealed for the upcoming Japanese language dub of The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess donghua series. The show will begin streaming early on some services starting September 28, 2025, while it will broadcast on Japanese TV on October 1, 2025. 

The main opening theme song for the series is “Ii yo” by Daoko, while the ending theme is “Sono Hitomi de” by XAI

Additionally, four new cast members will be joining the Japanese dubbed series, which include: 

  • • Azumi Waki as Lilian York 
  • • Kana Hanazawa as Diana 
  • • Junichi Suwabe as Duke Alpheus 
  • • Hidenori Takahashi as Anastacius

They join a previously announced Japanese dub cast that stars: 

  • • Sumire Morohoshi as Athanasia
  • • Tomoaki Maeno as Claude
  • • Ryohei Kimura as Felix
  • • Nobuhiko Okamoto as Lucas
  • • Shuichiro Umeda as Ijekiel
  • • Manaka Iwami as Jennette

iQIYI and KuaiKan are involved in the general non-animation production of the Who Made Me a Princess donghua series, while KADOKAWA is credited with the Japanese dub production. Zhang Yingying is directing the series at animation studio Colored Pencil Animation.

The series began as a web novel by Plutus, which later inspired a manhwa webtoon series illustrated by Spoon, which was published from December 20, 2017 to April 30, 2022. Nine volumes were released in total. The web novel is available in English on Tapas, while the manhwa is available on both Tapas and Tappytoon. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manhwa for release in English

The original Chinese version of the first Japanese dub teaser trailer, released earlier this month, came out in 2023 and was labelled a pilot trailer by Bilibili.

Crunchyroll is streaming the The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess worldwide, and describes the main premise as: 

When a woman wakes up as Athanasia, the ill-fated princess from the novel The Lovely Princess, she’s gotta rewrite this tragedy or face execution—by her own father! She may be trapped, but she’s got her wits and the doomed girl’s memories to help her with a plot twist of survival. But when her escape plan fails, she has to charm her way into not being executed again.
