A new trailer has been revealed for the Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution compilation anime film, which will be screened in North America on December 5, 2025. The theatrical pre-screening of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will be released in Japan on November 7, 2025, and will also screen simultaneously on IMAX screens in the country. 

Four new character visuals of Yuji, Yuta, Megumi, and Choso were also revealed.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution will be a compilation of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2’s “Shibuya Incident Arc” and the first two episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1, before its January 2026 premiere

GKIDS will be distributing Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution compilation film in North American theaters, which is also known in Japan as Gekijoban Jujutsu Kaisen “Shibuya Jihen Tokubetsu Henshuban” x “Shimetsu Kaiyu Senko Joei” or Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins

Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season staff includes Shota Goshozono (since Season 2) as director, Hiroshi Seko (since Season 1) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Yosuke Yajima (new) and Hiromi Niwa (new) as character designers, Yosuke Takada (new) as assistant director, Teppei Ito (since Season 1) as compositing director, Eiko Matsushima (since Season 2) as color designer, Junichi Higashi (since Jujutsu Kaisen 0) as background art director, and Yoshimasa Terui (since Season 1, solo credit since Season 2) as music composer. MAPPA is in charge of the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the voice cast returning from previous seasons include: 

  • • Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori
  • • Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro
  • • Daisuke Namikawa as Choso
  • • Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu

The anime’s first season and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 were directed by Sunghoo Park (God of High School, Ninja Kamui), with Shota Goshozono (Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 17, Ranking of Kings Episode 21, and Chainsaw Man Episode 8 storyboard artist and episode director) taking over afterwards.

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen ran from late 2020 to early 2021 for 24 episodes and was followed by the prequel movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in December 2021. The second season ran from July to December 2023, with the latter “Shibuya Incident Arc” beginning a few weeks after the initial “Hidden Inventory Arc.” Crunchyroll is currently streaming all the previous seasons and Jujutsu Kaisen 0

Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the manga by Gege Akutami, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 5, 2018 to September 30, 2024. A total of 30 tankobon volumes were released. 

A four-chapter predecessor now known as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was released in 2017 and was adapted into a 2021 anime film. 

Viz Media releases the manga in English and describes the main premise as:

Although Yuji Itadori looks like your average teenager, his immense physical strength is something to behold! Every sports club wants him to join, but Itadori would rather hang out with the school outcasts in the Occult Research Club. One day, the club manages to get their hands on a sealed cursed object. Little do they know the terror they’ll unleash when they break the seal…
