A new trailer, additional cast member, and main ending theme song have been revealed for the upcoming A Star Brighter Than the Sun TV anime series. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 2, 2025.
The main theme song previewed in the new trailer is “Saishin-wa” by Wanuka. Meanwhile, the opening theme is “Stellar Days” by Motohiro Hata.
Additionally, voice actress Haruka Shiraishi is joining the series as Subaru Kamishiro.
She joins the anime’s voice cast, which stars:

- • Yuki Ono as Koki Kamishiro
- • Hina Yomiya as Hisui Onodera
- • Taito Ban as Yota Ayukawa
- • Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa
- • Ryota Osaka as Yushin Izawa
Aya Kobayashi is directing the anime series, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) as series screenwriter and Miki Sakurai (The Quintessential Quintuplets) and Natsumi Tabuchi (Nina the Starry Bride) as music composers. Studio KAI is in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the romance manga series by Kazune Kawahara, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret on June 11, 2021 and has released 12 volumes as of August 2025. VIZ Media licensed the manga in May 2024 for English release.
A Star Brighter Than The Sun is described as a “first love story” between the taller-than-average Sae and the popular Koki.
