A new ending theme song has been revealed for the upcoming second season of Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits TV anime series, which will begin broadcasting in Japan on October 1, 2025.
Nao Toyama, who voices the series’ main character Aoi Tsubaki, will perform the second season’s ending theme, “Namida no Recipe.” A new artist photo of Toyama was also released for the latest single.
Toyama will also perform the second season’s main opening theme, “Toryanse.” The CD for the new opening and ending theme will be released in Japan on November 5, 2025. She previously performed season one’s first opening theme, “Tomoshibi no Manimani.”
Joe Yoshizaki (The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows) is directing the second season of Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, with Tomoko Konparu (reprising, previously co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Hidemi Katsura (The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows settei developer) as character designer. GONZO and Makaria are in charge of the animation production. GONZO previously handled the animation production company for season one.
Besides Toyama, the anime’s voice cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi as Odanna and Shunichi Toki as Ginji.
The original light novel series is written by Midori Yuma and illustrated by Laruha. It was published under Kadokawa’s Fujimi L Bunko label from April 13, 2015 to March 15, 2022, with 12 volumes being released in total.
The series also inspired a manga adaptation by Waco Ioka in April 2016, which is licensed and released in English by VIZ Media, and a stage play. A new manga by Tsugaru Toba was launched in January 2023.
The first season of the anime adaptation aired from April 2018 to September 2018.
Crunchyroll streamed the first season of Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits and will stream the second season. It describes the main synopsis of season one as:
After losing her grandfather, Aoi—a girl who can see spirits known as ayakashi—is suddenly approached by an ogre. Demanding she pay her grandfather’s debt, he makes a huge request: her hand in marriage! Refusing this absurd offer, Aoi decides to work at the Tenjin-ya bed and breakfast for the ayakashi to pay back what her family owes.
