The I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class series has released a voice drama called “End of Summer Resolutions,” featuring a swimsuit special illustration. It can be streamed on the Asmik Ace official YouTube channel. The anime series is set to premiere in 2026.
The voice drama tells the story of Umi, Yu, and Nina’s summer vacation at the beach and Umi’s decision on the type of girl she wants to be before her fateful meeting with Maki. It is an original story written by Takata, the author of the original light novel series.
The swimsuit illustration is for the voice drama and features Umi, Yu, Nina at the beach.
I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class (Class de 2-banme ni Kawaii Onnanoko to Tomodachi ni Natta) is a Japanese light novel series that follows the story of Maki Maehara and his (only) friend Umi Asanagi, who happens to be the second cutest girl in his class. It began in 2021 and has released seven volumes as of September 2025. The eighth volume is scheduled for release in Japan on October 1, 2025. It won the Tsugi ni Kuru Light Novel Award 2023. It inspired a manga adaptation by Rin Ono.
Yen Press has licensed and is publishing the manga in English. The premise of the first volume of the manga reads:
