The Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart anime has received a 2026 release date and a teaser trailer.

It was also revealed that SynergySP is the new series’ animation production studio, replacing Lerche. Plus, the Minori Chihara opening song “No tears here” will be performed at Animelo Summer Live 2025 “ThanXX!,” marking its first unveiling.

Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart is the follow-up to 2016’s Magical Girl Raising Project, and is also based on the light novel series written by Asari Endo and illustrated by Marui-noMagical Girl Raising Project: Restart is the title of the light novel series’ second and third volumes (which serve as a two-part read), and Yen Press describes the first of the pair as:

The hit social network game “The Magical Girl Raising Project” selects one out of every tens of thousands of players to become a real life magical girl. The lucky chosen girls gain magic powers as well as incredibly good fortune, and spend their days blissfully. But one day, an absolute announcement declares that the number of magical girls has risen too high and must be cut down to half. Sixteen young maidens are thrust into a merciless, deadly contest to survive…but how many will come out the other side?

The light novel series, which is published under TAKARAJIMASHA’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! bunko label, started in 2012 and has 18 volumes as of November 2023. It has also inspired some manga.

Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart was announced in 2023.
