The upcoming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has received an IMAX poster, which depicts Denji riding the fiend Beam.
The film will be screened in 61 IMAX locations in Japan, with the IMAX screenings to begin the same date as the regular screenings on September 19 JST.
Also revealed was a visual for a two-part compilation of the Chainsaw Man TV anime, which will first stream on ABEMA starting September 5 JST. This compilation, which Crunchyroll has picked up for streaming will include new footage based on the Chainsaw Biyori content that’s featured at the end of the manga’s tankobon volumes.
Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is the sequel to the 2022 Chainsaw Man TV anime, which adapts Tatsuki Fujimoto‘s supernatural action manga. The movie’s synopsis reads:
Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.
Meanwhile, Viz Media describes the Shueisha-published manga as:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
The first part of the Chainsaw Man manga ran from 2018 to 2021 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The current second part debuted on the Shonen Jump+ app and website in July 2022. The 22th volume will be released on September 4, 2025 JST.
