A main trailer for Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Koujou-hen, an early two-part theatrical preview for Golden Kamuy: The Final Chapter, has been released.

The movie’s first part is set to premiere on October 10 JST, while the second will premiere on October 31 JST. Golden Kamuy: The Final Chapter will start its Japanese broadcast in January 2026.

Golden Kamuy is based on the Shueisha-published historical adventure manga by Satoru Noda, which ran from 2014 to 2022 with 31 volumes. It was serialized in Weekly Young Jump and is published under the Young Jump Comics label.

Viz Media describes the manga as:

In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.

The first Golden Kamuy season premiered in 2018. 2022’s fourth season was produced by Brain’s Base instead of the preceding seasons’ Geno Studio.

The manga has also inspired a live-action movie and series.
