Japanese esports team Crazy Raccoon is the subject of two new manga co-created by OSHI NO KO‘s Aka Akasaka. The manga, CRBR -Crazy Raccoon Battle Royale- and Karubi, Momareru., began serialization on August 20 JST on Magazine Pocket and comic HOWL.
CRBR -Crazy Raccoon Battle Royale- sees a shut-in gamer winding up in a battle royale after receiving a mysterious email from Crazy Raccoon. The featured Crazy Raccoon members include Daruma is God and Arisakaaa.
Akasaka and Crazy Raccoon are co-credited as creators for this manga, while hiromono is credited with the storyboard composition. Ando (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun: if Episode of Mafia) is the artist.
Meanwhile, Karubi, Momareru centers on the titular VTuber Akami Karubi (who joined Crazy Raccoon in September 2024) and is described as a “high calorie” and amusing comic about work. Akasaka shares creator credits with Shiromanta (My Senpai Is Annoying), while Karubi and Crazy Raccoon have draft cooperation credits. Shiromanta is the artist.
These new manga aren’t Akasaka’s first brush with Crazy Raccoon. A couple of examples include the manga writer’s (who retired from drawing in 2022) participation in the 4th Crazy Raccoon Cup Apex Legends tournament in 2021 and his participation in a Rust server co-organized by “gaming community facility” VaultRoom and Crazy Raccoon.
Akasaka is currently writing the ongoing Märchen Crown manga, which debuted in March 2025.
