A new teaser visual and trailer have been revealed for the Dragon Raja II -The Mourner’s Eyes- donghua animated series. The Japanese broadcast will begin in Japan on October 8, 2025 on the TOKYO MX, BS11, Tochigi TV and Gunma TV channels.
Dragon Raja II -The Mourner’s Eyes- first premiered in China on July 18, 2025 and is expected to run for 24 episodes. It serves as the sequel to Dragon Raja -The Blazing Dawn-.
Wang Xin is once again credited as director and series screenwriter for the second season, while HANABARA Animation is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the returning Japanese dub voice cast includes Daiki Yamashita as Lu Mingfei, Ayumu Murase as Lu Mingze, and Kensho Ono as Chu Zihang.
Dragon Raja -The Blazing Dawn- was produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and Garden Culture. It aired in China from August 19, 2022 to November 25, 2022 for a total of 17 episodes, which included an “Episode 0.” The first season began broadcasting in Japan in April 2024 and has been released internationally by Aniplex.
The first season of the Chinese animated series adapted the first story arc of the Dragon Raja (Long Zu) novel series, written by Chinese author Jiang Nan, who is credited with the original story. A total of six volumes were published from April 2010 to December 2015.
The novel series consist of five story arcs, a prequel short story, and an anthology novella. In addition to an animated series, the novels also inspired a manhua comic and video game powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.
Crunchyroll is streaming the first season of Dragon Raja worldwide, outside of Japan and Asia, and is streaming the second season as part of its Summer 225 simulcast lineup. It describes the main premise of the first season as:
