The ongoing second season of DAN DA DAN reached its midway point with the airing of its sixth episode this week, which features an explosive heavy metal performance featuring Dragon Force frontman Marc Hudson.
The recently released music clip comes from the second season’s sixth episode (18th overall). It features the character Toshiro and his visual kei rock band HAYASii performing an exorcism on the possessed Jiji, using the power of a headbanging heavy metal performance.
The song performed by HAYASii is “Hunting Soul,” which is written, composed, and arranged by Seiichi Nagai and produced by series music composer Kensuke Ushio. Voice actor Kisho Taniyama performs the Japanese vocals for Toshiro, while Hudson performs the English version of the song. Other musicians involved in the song include Marty Friedman on guitar, CHARGEEEEEE… on drums, and Wakazaemon on bass.
The second season of DAN DA DAN premiered on Japanese television and Netflix on July 3, 2025 and is expected to run for 12 episodes. The first season aired for 12 episodes in Fall 2024. Crunchyroll and Netflix are streaming the anime worldwide, outside of Japan.

Viz Media releases the DAN DA DAN manga series in English, describing the main synopsis as:
Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, meanwhile, thinks the exact opposite. To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong — Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love…and oddly horny aliens and spirits?
