The 100 METERS anime film has received a character trailer and a series of character visuals, which highlight five of the story’s dramatis personae.

Get a glimpse of the personalities and running prowess of Togashi (Tori Matsuzaka), Komiya (Shota Sometani), Nikami (Jun Kasama), Zaitsu (Koki Uchiyama), and Kaido (Kenjiro Tsuda) below:

100 METERS is set to premiere in Japan on September 19 JST and has been picked up by GKIDS for an October release in North America. It is an adaptation of Uoto‘s (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth) first serialized manga. GKIDS’ synopsis for the film reads:

100 METERS follows Togashi, a track star who is born to run. As a kid, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race without effort. But in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is full of determination but lacks technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new purpose: to win no matter what. Years pass by, and Togashi and Komiya meet again as rivals on the track and reveal their true selves.

100 METERS was featured at Annecy 2024 as part of the Work-in-Progress lineup, and this year as part of the Official Selection category.
