The Even A Replica Falls In Love TV anime adaptation that was announced in February has received updates in the form of a teaser trailer and visual, as well as a 2026 premiere date. Some cast and staff details were also revealed.
Sumire Moroboshi is voicing both the titular replica, Nao, and her original, Sunao Aikawa. The staff lineup includes:

• Series composer and co-scriptwriter: Tomoko Shinozuka (You Are Ms. Servant co-scriptwriter)
• Character designer: Eiji Abiko (Mr Osomatsu Season 3 and 4)
• Animation production: Voil
Even A Replica Falls In Love is based on the Dengeki Bunko light novel series written by Harunadon and illustrated by raemz. Yen Press describes the books’ premise as:
When she doesn’t feel well, when there’s a test, when she doesn’t want to go to school… I take her place. I’m her replica. I’m not meant for anything else. But that changed when I fell in love. I wear my hair up so the boy I fell for knows it’s me. We skip school and promise to meet again tomorrow, and every day after. I’m her replica. Everything about me is borrowed and empty, but my heart is mine.
The light novel series made its debut in 2023 and will release its fifth volume on August 8, 2025 JST. It was the recipient of the 29th Dengeki Shousetsu Taishou Grand Prize.
The light novels have inspired a manga.
