The ONE PIECE TV anime series announced that J-Pop group ELLEGARDEN will be performing their latest anime theme song. The opening theme song is titled “Carmine” and is set to air on ONE PIECE’s latest episode on August 10th JST.
A new trailer featuring the new opening theme song was released on the official YouTube channel. The song will also be released digitally on August 10th at 11:45 PM JST.
The song was written by ELLEGARDEN’s vocalist and guitarist, Takeshi Hosomi, who is also a fan of the series, making it the first original song written for the series.
ONE PIECE is an original manga series authored by Eiichiro Oda. It was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 1997. As of August 2025, 112 manga volumes have been released. Viz Media has licensed and is releasing the manga series in English.
The series has inspired multiple media, including a 1999 OVA, animated films, stage plays, video games, drama CDs, card games, and a TV anime series. The anime adaptation first aired in 1999, becoming one of the longest-running TV anime series.
The series also inspired Netflix’s live-action adaptation that aired on Netflix in August 2023. The second season is set to premiere in 2026.
