Three new cast members have been announced for the upcoming Egao no Taenai Shokuba Desu TV anime series. The anime will premiere in Japan in October 2025. The official website lists the series with the English title A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace.
The three new cast consist of Iori Saeki as Shiori, Mamiko Noto as Ren, and Kikuko Inoue as Wakako.
They join a previously announced voice cast that stars:

- • Sora Amamiya as Kanade Sato
- • Miku Ito as Mizuki Hazama
- • Yu Kobayashi as Arisa Nashida
- • Eriko Matsui as Toku Kakunodate
- • Miharu Hanai as Nekonote
Kaoru Suzuki (DIVE!!) is directing the anime series, with Mio Inoue (Slow Start) as series screenwriter, and Kana Miyai (The Apothecary Diaries co-sub character designer, RWBY: Ice Queendom co-main animator) as character designer. Voil is in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the comedy manga series by Kuzushiro, which began serialization on Kodansha’s Comic DAYS website on May 18, 2019 and has released 12 volumes as of April 2025.
The “working girls comedy” follows a newcomer female manga artist named Nana, who has occasional delusions, her editor, Kanade, and her assistant, Mizuki.
