The official Twitter/X account of the upcoming Suikoden: The Anime series has revealed a new teaser image visual and a 2026 premiere date. Suikoden: The Anime will be an adaptation of the 1998 Suikoden II video game.

Yuto Sato (Hunter × Hunter: The Last Mission, Trillion Game) is directing the anime adaptation, while KONAMI animation is handling the animation production. NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan’s Ryo Hino is serving as the anime’s producer and production manager.
Suikoden II was first released in 1998 for the PlayStation 1 and is the second entry in Konami’s Suikoden JRPG video game series. A remaster of Suikoden and Suikoden II, titled Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars, was released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, and Epic Games Store on March 6, 2025.
Steam describes the main premise of Suikoden II as:
Our story’s hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, which participated in a drawn-out border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowston .
