Two more new cast members have been revealed for the upcoming You and Idol Precure anime film. The 22nd anime film entry in the Precure franchise, known in Japanese as Eiga Kimi to Idol Precure ♪Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru Kirakki Live!, will begin screening in Japanese theaters on September 12, 2025.
Maaya Uchida is voicing the character Tera (left), a red-haired girl who hates idols; and Ayane Sakura is voicing Amas (right), a legendary goddess of Aiai Island.
Meanwhile, the main cast for the recent You and Idol Precure TV series include Misato Matsuoka as Cure Idol/Uta Sakura, Minami Takahashi as Cure Wink/Nana Aokaze, and Natsumi Takamori as Cure Kyun Kyun/Kokoro Shigure.
Koji Ogawa (the Precure All Star NewStage2 and Precure All Star NewStage3 films) is directing the anime film, with Nishiki Itaoka (Precure All Stars F) as character designer and chief animation director, and Hiroyuki Yoshino (The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe) as scriptwriter. Toei Animation is in charge of the animation production.
The premise of Eiga Kimi to Idol Precure ♪Omatase! Kimi ni Todokeru Kirakki Live! involves the hosting of the universe’s top idol festival on AiAi Island, which gets complicated by the appearance of mysterious monsters. There will also be appearances from Wonderful Precure! and Soaring Sky! Precure characters in the new film.
The You and Idol TV series is the latest entry in the Pretty Cure magical girl franchise, with the show debuting in February. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series worldwide, outside of Japan, and describes the main premise as:
Middle school student Uta Sakura loves to sing any chance she gets. But music becomes more than a hobby when she meets Purirun, a fairy whose hometown has plunged into darkness. The Chokkiri Gang took over her land and began stealing her people’s sparkle. Determined to help, Uta is transformed into the legendary protector Cure Idol and vows to return their sparkle through song.
