The official Twitter/X account of the ongoing second season of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability has announced the addition of Toshiyuki Morikawa to the voice cast. The second season began broadcasting in Japan on July 9, 2025.
Morikawa will voice the character Civil War, who will appear in the anime’s 16th episode that will air in Japan on July 30, 2025.
He joins an anime voice cast that stars:

Jin Tamamura (A Sister’s All You Need series director) is directing the anime series, with Naoki Tozuka (T.P. Sakura: Time Paladin Sakura) as screenwriter and scriptwriter, Naru Nishikori (Shadowverse Flame in-between checker) as character designer and chief animation director, Yuuichi Abe (Superior Defender Gundam Force director) as action director, and R.O.N as music composer. Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab is in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Kenkyo na Circle and illustrated by Meru. It was first published by Kodansha’s Ranobe Bunko on July 2, 2020 and has released nine volumes as of April 2025. The series began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on October 31, 2019.
A manga adaptation by Yosuke Kokuzawa began serialization on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website and app on June 27, 2020. Nineteen tankobon volumes have been released as of May 2025. Kodansha USA releases the manga series in English.
A spinoff manga by Keiri Amamiya was launched in Magazine Pocket on February 17, 2024.
Crunchyroll streamed the 12-episode anime adaptation of I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability as it aired in Japan in 2024, describing the main synopsis as:
The study of magic requires aptitude, effort, and the right bloodline. One sorcerer loved magic, despite lacking the bloodline and aptitude for it, and died wishing he’d spent more time studying in life. He reawakens as Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum, with all his previous memories intact. Blessed with a strong magical bloodline, he uses his gifts to master the study of magic.
