A new trailer for the upcoming musical anime film Toritsukare Otoko has been released. Dubbed as a “music trailer,” the video plays the song “Fanfare ~Koi ni Ukarete~,” which will be featured in the movie too, and previews some new footage as well as a bit of spoken dialogue.
The lead cast and release date of the film were also revealed. Masaya Sano is Giuseppe, the protagonist who falls in love with Moka Kamishiraishi‘s balloon seller Pechka. For the release date, Toritsukare Otoko will open in Japanese theaters on November 7 JST.
The Toritsukare Otoko title is also the moniker given to Giuseppe in the story by the townsfolk, due to how he pays undivided attention to whatever fascinates him at the moment, be it detective work or singing. He has also become capable of rat speech after conversations with the homeless rat Cielo. When he falls for Pechka, Giuseppe tries to resolve her worries with the help of Cielo and the many skills he has picked up.
The movie is based on the novel by Shinji Ishii, which was first released in 2001 by Billiken. A bunkoban release from Shinchosha came in 2006.
