Four new cast members have been added to the ongoing Gachiakuta TV anime series. The anime first aired in Japan on July 6, 2025 and will run for 24 episodes.
The new cast members include:
- • Mie Sonozaki as Semiu
- • Satoshi Hino as Gris
- • Kazuki Ura as Follo
- • Hisako Tojo as Tomme
The anime’s official English Twitter/X account also posted visuals with descriptions of the new characters.
They join a main voice cast that stars:
- • Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo
- • Katsuyuki Konishi as Enjin
- • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Zanka
- • Yumiri Hanamori as Riyo
- • Yuuki Shin as Jabber
Fumihiko Suganuma (Train to the End of the World chief episode director, T.P Bon Episode 6 storyboard artist and director) is directing the anime series, with Hiroshi Seko (Wind Breaker, Jujutsu Kaisen) as series screenwriter, Satoshi Ishino (Godzilla Singular Point) as character designer and chief animation director, and Yoshino Matsumoto as sub character designer and chief animation director. BONES FILM (credited under Studio Bones at the time of announcement) is in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the dark fantasy action manga by Kei Urana (with graffiti art by Hideyoshi Ando), which was first serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on February 16, 2022. It has released 15 tankobon volumes as of June 2025, with a 16th volume set to be published in Japan on September 17, 2025. The manga was a Shonen Category finalist in the 47th and 48th Kodansha Manga Award. Kodansha USA publishes the series in English.

Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment — exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!
