The OSHI NO KO anime’s X (formerly Twitter) account has released a Ruby Hoshino-starring summer visual that sees the idol lying in seawater with an animal float while enjoying a drink.
A voiced video version was also released.
The illustration doubles as a Marine Day (Umi no Hi) visual — Marine Day is a public holiday in Japan that falls on the third Monday of July, and the visual was released on the date of this year’s Marine Day.
We previously got a spring visual that also commemorated the Japanese public holiday Greenery Day (Midori no Hi).
The OSHI NO KO anime is an adaptation of the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and drawn by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish), which ran from 2020 to 2024 in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in 2020 and ended in November 2024. Yen Press describes the premise as:
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).
The OSHI NO KO anime’s third season is set to air in 2026. The new season will pick up half-a-year after the release of “POP IN 2,” with things largely progressing well for everyone. However, Kana has lost her previous cheeriness, and Ruby is in pursuit of the truth behind Ai and Goro’s deaths.
