Keigo Shinzo‘s slice of life manga series Hirayasumi is receiving an anime adaptation and live-action drama series. The anime will be a joint production between VIZ Media and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, with Production +h in charge of the animation production.
A celebratory illustration by Shinzo was released to commemorate the anime adaptation announcement. Further details on the anime such as its format, main staff, and voice cast were not announced.

Meanwhile, Anime News Network reports, via Comic Natalie, that the live-action TV drama series will begin broadcasting on the NHK channel this coming fall and will run for 15 minutes.
Shinzo first launched the manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine on April 26, 2021. Eight tankobon volumes have been released as of November 2024, with a ninth volume set to be released on July 30, 2025.
Hirayasumi was nominated for the 15th Manga Taisho awards in 2022 and again in the 17th edition in 2023. It was also a nominee for the 27th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2023.

VIZ Media licensed the manga for release in English, and describes the main synopsis as:
At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn’t have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn’t be happier. Hiroto’s breezy attitude isn’t easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.
