A new trailer and key visual have been revealed for the Little Shark’s Day Out anime film, Eiga Odekake Kozame Tokai no Otomodachi, along with more additional cast members and a main theme song. The film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on August 22, 2025.

The new additional cast members include:
- • Ai Furihata as Photographer Lady
- • Makoto Koichi as Manabu
- • Sayaka Kikuchi as Model Lady
- • Naomi Kusumi as Ojii-san
- • Kana Ueda as Proprietress
- • Ryota Suzuki as Dobel-san
They join the film’s voice cast that stars:
- • Kana Hanazawa as Kozame-chan
- • Megumi Han as Anko-chan
- • Misaki Kuno as Usame-chan
- • Yuichiro Umehara as Man with a Mohawk
- • Natsuki Hanae as Haruto
Japanese singer-songwriter Lozareena is performing the film’s main theme song “Where you come from.” The song will be released in full on August 20, 2025.
In addition, a fourth new character visual featuring Kozame-chan and the Man with a Mohawk was also released.

Chihiro Kumano (The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei) is directing the anime film, with Hiroaki Nagashima (returning) as screenwriter and scriptwriter, Ayumi Takeuchi (My Happy Marriage key animation) as character designer, Kisuke Koizumi (My Happy Marriage) as sound director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Love Live! Superstar!!) as music composer. ENGI is handling the film’s animation production, as it did with the short anime series.
All 60 short episodes of the Little Shark’s Day Out web anime series are streaming on YouTube with English subtitles.
The original web manga series by Penguin Box was first posted on their Twitter in June 2021. It was later published in Enterbrain’s Aokishi magazine on October 20, 2021 under the Kitora imprint. Seven tankobon volumes have been released as of July 2025.

The film follows Kozame-chan’s journey to the big city, after seeing a flashy poster in front of the train station. She begins a new adventure where she meets many new friends.
