Key Unveils Augment Protocol Visual Novel, Out on November 28 in Japan featured image

The visual novel brand/studio Key has announced the kinetic novel Augment Protocol (Kousai Toshi), which launches in Japan on November 28 JST for Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs. Pre-orders will open on July 25 JST. 

The kinetic novel takes place in a near-future setting with an AR-enabling lens called Plant. Protagonist Shion Kuraugi is a cybercrime investigator at the company ADONIS, who ends up at the remote OCTA branch after getting caught up in a case involving the security-disabling hardware Cheat Plant. 

The branch happens to be in the town where Shion spent his childhood, and during a trip to a flower bed he used to play at with his now-deceased friend Moka, Shion comes across none other than Moka herself (or rather, an AR Avatar version with little memories of the past, according to her character profile).
