Shochiku has unveiled multiple new character trailers for the upcoming Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- anime film. The film is scheduled to begin screening in Japanese theaters on August 29, 2025.

Toshiya Shinohara (NagiAsu: A Lull in the Sea, The Aquatope on White Sand) is directing the anime film, with Yuko Kakihara (Blue Box series composer) as scriptwriter, and P.A.WORKS as the animation production company. 

Tomomi Takada, Jun Suzuki, Hiranko Konohana are credited as the film’s original character designers, while Kosuke Kawatsura (Komada: A Whisky Family) and Mio Fujishima (Skip and Loafer sub-character designer) as character designers.

A manga adaptation of the anime film began serialization on KADOKAWA’s Comic Newtype web platform at the end of this past June. The manga’s first volume will be released in Japan on August 26, 2025, just a few days before the film’s premiere in Japanese theaters later that month. 

Lewis Carroll’s original 1865 fantasy novel has inspired several adaptations since its first publication, including the 1951 Disney animated film Alice in Wonderland. In Japan, the novel inspired Nippon Animation and Apollo Film’s 1983 TV anime adaptation Fushigi no Kuni no Alice

Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- follows a young college student named Rise Azumino, who is struggling in her life. One day, she finds herself in Wonderland after being guided by an invitation left by her late grandmother. There, she meets a young girl named Alice and goes on a journey with her, leading to various encounters with characters of the new world.
