Japanese rock band KANA-BOON has returned with their latest track “SUPERNOVA,” the opening theme for the second cour of the TV anime Dr. Stone Science Future, and is now available on several music streaming platforms. The second cour of the long-running anime series began broadcasting in Japan on July 10, 2025.
“SUPERNOVA” was written for the second cour of Dr. Stone Science Future, with an accompanying music video featuring the band also being released.

A creditless opening sequence of the second cour with the new single was also posted on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel.
Dr. Stone: Science Future‘s first cour premiered in Japan on January 9, 2025 and ran for 12 episodes until March 27, 2025. It is the final season of the Dr. Stone anime adaptation, which will run for three split cours.
The first season of Dr. Stone was released in 2019, which is followed by the second season of Stone Wars in 2021. The third season, Dr. Stone: New World, began its first cour in April 2023 and the second cour in October 2023.
The anime is based on the adventure science fiction manga, written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022 and released 27 total tankobon volumes. VIZ Media publishes the manga series in English.
Crunchyroll has streamed all the previous seasons of Dr. Stone and describes the second cour of Science Future as:
After the battle on Treasure Island, Senku and the gang return to the Kingdom of Science. With their sights set on the Moon, they must first voyage to the Americas in hopes of beginning to harvest the required materials. Through teamwork and science, they continue the fight to save humanity once and for all!
