Three new cast members have been revealed for the upcoming sixth season of the long-running Kingdom TV anime series. Season six is expected to debut in Japan in October 2025.
The three new cast members joining the sixth season are voicing members of the Qin military’s Hi Shin unit (from left to right in the image below), which include Sho Komura as Sou Jin, Daichi Hayashi as Sou Tan, and Yu Hayashi as Kan To.

The production staff for the sixth season retains many of the same staff from seasons 3-5 (unless stated otherwise). They include Kenichi Imaizumi as director, Noboru Takagi as series screenwriter, Hisashi Abe as character designer, and Hiroyuki Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO as music composers. Pierrot and its subsidiary St.Signpost are in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based on the Warring States period manga series by Yasuhisa Hara. It was first launched in Weekly Young Jump on January 26, 2006 and has released 75 tankobon volumes as of March 2025. A 76th volume is expected to be released in Japan on July 17, 2025. VIZ Media announced earlier this year that it had licensed the manga.
Besides the anime, the manga has inspired four live-action film adaptations, as of 2024, a 2010 video game, and two mobile games in 2016 and 2018, respectively. It was also the recipient of the 17th Osamu Tezuka Cultural prize. In December 2024, the series’ print circulation numbers passed 110 million copies.

Crunchyroll is currently streaming all five seasons of Kingdom, which started in 2012, and describes the main synopsis as:
Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Hyou is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Shin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Hyou — a boy who will one day become emperor!
