Shortly after the broadcast of its first episode, Pony Canyon revealed a third new key visual, second main trailer, and five additional cast members for the Turkey! Time to Strike TV anime series. The anime began broadcasting in Japan on July 8, 2025 and is streaming worldwide on Crunchyroll.
The five newly revealed cast members include:
- • Noriko Hidaka as Sumomo
- • Yuko Minaguchi as Akebi
- • Kikuko Inoue as Suguri
- • Miki Ito as Anzu
- • Rei Sakuma as Natsume
They join the anime’s main voice cast which stars:
- • Hana Ishikawa as Mai Otonashi
- • Kana Ichinose as Rina Godai
- • Haruki Iwata as Sayuri Ichinose
- • Yuuki Tenma as Nozomi Mitaka
- • Ayasa Ito as Nanase Nikaido
Pony Canyon also revealed an updated main synopsis of the series, which describes it as:
The story is set at the bowling club of Ikkokukan High School in Nagano Prefecture. Mai, the club captain, values having fun with everyone over winning. But her junior, Rina, pushes back, saying, “I want to win.” When Rina threatens to quit the club, Mai tries to talk her down — but Rina challenges her to a one-game match. Suddenly, the bowling ball begins to glow, and the five club members are enveloped in a mysterious light…When they wake up — They’ve somehow time traveled to the Sengoku era!? A completely original anime blending bowling and time travel.
Susumu Kudo (Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood, Momentary Lily co-director) is directing the original anime series, with Airi Takekawa (Pandora to Akubi sub-character designer) as character designer, Naomi Hiruta (Spaghetti Code Love live-action film) as scriptwriter, and Masanori Nabana as main animator. Bakken Record is in charge of the animation production.
The anime was first announced in December 2023 and is produced by Pony Canyon. The show’s primary setting is Chikuma City, located in Nagano prefecture.
Pony Canyon initially described the main synopsis of Turkey! as:
Will you believe me? A story that is mysterious, precious, bittersweet, and irreplaceable — Can’t be described as simply fun. “Turkey” is a bowling term for scoring three consecutive strikes.
This is the story of Mai, the “a genius who never wins” and her teammates — Rina, Sayuri, Nozomi, and Nanase members of the Ikkokukan High School Bowling Club. They fight, they fall, but they rise again, chasing victory.
This is the tale of a summer’s final chapter.
