An anime adaptation of The Vermilion Mask manga has been announced to be in production. The announcement was made by Yomiuri TV at its panel during Anime Expo 2025. The company did not reveal the premiere date or format of the anime.
An English-subtitled trailer and first visual for the anime were released by the company.

The manga’s writer Dr. Poro and artist Nabana Naba also provided special illustrations to celebrate the anime adaptation announcement. Poro and Naba are also credited with the anime’s story supervision.


Tetsuaki Watanabe (Blue Lock Season 1 director) is directing the anime series, with Gai Hazako as assistant director, Daisuke Ohigashi (Fate/strange Fake) as series screenwriter, Hisashi Higashijima (Mashle: Magic and Muscles) as character designer, Fumiyuki Go (Kaiju No.8, The Rise of the Shield Hero Seasons 1-4) as sound director, and Alisa Okehazama (Jujutsu Kaisen, The Apothecary Diaries) as music composer. 100studio is in charge of the animation production.
The manga series was first launched in Shonengahosha’s Young King Ours magazine on February 27, 2021 and has released seven tankobon volumes as of December 2024. An eighth volume will be released in Japan on July 7, 2025. Orange’s emaqi e-bookstore publishes the manga in English digitally, with the first four volumes now available on the platform.

The Mask of the Warrior God, the Mask of the Spider, the Mask of the Flame Dragon, the Mask of Courage, the Vermilion Mask― “The “masks” grant power to those who wear them. Sometimes they unlock limitless potential ― other times, they unleash unimaginable calamity.
Peru, apprentice to the legendary mask artisan Gaston Lou, loses control when possessed by the “Mask of the Warrior God.” In his frenzied state, he accidentally kills both his companions and his master. Crushed by despair, Peru resolves to destroy every mask crafted by his late master, now scattered across the world. He embarks on a journey of atonement, confronting the weight of his sins.
