Aniplex have revealed a second new trailer, more cast members, and an October 2025 premiere date for the upcoming Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Masked Rider TV anime series.
The four new cast members joining the series include:
- • Ai Kayano as Yuriko Okada
- • Kenichi Suzumura as Ichiyo Shimamura
- • Soma Saito as Mitsuha Shimamura
- • Fairouz Ai as Yukarisu
Earlier in the week, Aniplex previously announced the four cast members would be cast in an unnamed anime project. Kayano, Suzumura, Saito, and Ai are also featured in an accompanying extended interview video.

They join voice actor Katsuyuki Konishi, who voices the show’s main character Tanzaburo Tojima.
Additional staff members for the series was also announced, some of which include Yoshihiro Ujiie (The Water Magician) as prop designer, Ishigaki Pro’s Yukihiro Shibutani (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You Seasons 1-2) and Ayano Aizu as art directors, and movwav’s Takayuki Yamaguchi (Steins;Gate 0) as sound director.
Takahiro Ikezoe (SHOW BY ROCK!!) is directing the anime series, with Toko Machida (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!) as series screenwriter, Cindy H. Yamauchi (Divine Gate) as character designer, and TeddyLoid (Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt) as music composer. LIDENFILMS is in charge of the animation production.
Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Masked Rider is based on the tokusatsu manga series by Yokusaru Shibata. It was first published by Hero’s Inc.’s Monthly Hero’s magazine on May 1, 2018, before moving to the Comiplex website on November 27, 2020. Sixteen tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2025.

The manga’s main story follows the titular 40-year-old, who gets caught up in a mugging incident involving a fake Shocker.
