A new character trailer has been released for the Kamitsubaki City Under Construction TV anime series, highlighting Kafu Morisaki. The series began airing in Japan on July 3, 2025, with Crunchyroll now streaming the show’s “Episode 0.”
Additionally, a full version of the anime’s opening sequence has been released, which is set to the opening theme “Utahime” by V.W.P (short for -Virtual Witch Phenomenon-).
Kodai Kakimoto (BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! director, Narenare -Cheer for You!-) is serving as director and series screenwriter for the anime. Other staff include PALOW (Eve’s “Mob” music video co-concept artist) as character designer and Soki Tsukishima (Ingress the Animation co-series screenwriter and scriptwriter) as setting designer, supervision, and original scenario. SMDE is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main cast consists of members of V.W.P, which stars:

Kamitsubaki City Under Construction is part of Kamitsubaki Studio‘s Kamitsubaki City Under Construction “IP project” that began in 2019.

Crunchyroll is streaming Kamitsubaki City Under Construction worldwide, outside of Southeast Asia, and describes the main synopsis as:
Seven years after humanity was devastated by a major disaster, a beacon of science and prosperity rises in Kamitsubaki City. But lurking in its shadows are Tesseractor, monsters born from human darkness. Only the Witchling, five girls with voices that wield magic, stand against them. With every note, they fight, not just to protect the peace of the city, but to heal a broken world.
Kamitsubaki Studio describes itself as “a creative label and new-age artist management which produces cutting-edge internet culture with the next generation of creators” with the intent to “research and develop the future of IP and entertainment through the development of artists, original stories, future XR experiences, and metaverse development.” The company also has a music label, a story research and development division, a product development division, and a metaverse research and development division.
