The new Yasuomi Umetsu anime Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl is “coming soon” to American theaters, Aniplex of America has revealed.

An English-subtitled version of the anime’s trailer was also released.

Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl, which is a first installment, premiered in Japanese theaters on June 27 JST. The show is set in the year 2099, where the Medical Android Technology Somadea has aided humanity in conquering injury and illness, but has also resulted in crimes due to its physical ability-enhancing properties. Ubu Kamigori is a bounty hunter who hunts down criminals, but her life takes a turn when she finds a man called Mr. Elegance, whom she has a “sordid history” with, waiting in her home.

The anime is Umetsu’s first project-wide directorial role since 2014’s Wizard Barristers and is his first Shaft-produced series, though he has previously worked on Shaft productions like Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (key animation), Pretty Boy Detective Club (opening storyboard artist and director et al.), Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Final Season (key animation), and The Quintessential Quintuplets~ (key animation).
