When the original anime project Grotesque was announced in 2024, I assumed that it would be a singular title. Now, it transpires that the Atsushi Nishigori (Darling in the Franxx director and co-series composer et al., The Idolmaster director and character designer et al.) and Cloverworks collaboration involves three original anime, reflected by how Grotesque is now GROTESQQQUE with three Qs. It also has been delayed from 2025 to 2026.

The three anime are Aeliens, 4649GIRL, and Nocturne: En Cette Nuit Grotesque. You can get a preview of them in the new GROTESQQQUE teaser movie, which mostly features pre-production and production materials. There are aliens, an exploding head, melee combat, and previews that suggest vampires.
