HIDIVE has announced that it has licensed the upcoming Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! TV anime series for exclusive streaming this coming Fall 2025. The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in October 2025.
Ahead of the series’ fall streaming debut, HIDIVE will also present the world premiere of the anime’s first episode during next month’s Anime NYC 2025 from August 21–24, 2025.

Kaoru Yabana (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human Episodes 2, 7, 8, and 11) is directing the anime, with Chabo Higurashi (AMAZING STRANGER series screenwriter and co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter. Studio A-CAT is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast will star Kensho Ono as Allele, Saori Hayami as Laina, and Sumire Uesaka as Lilia.
The anime is based on the fantasy light novel series, written by Shichio Kuzu and illustrated by Yumehito Ueda. It began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on November 15, 2017 and ended on May 15, 2020. Earth Star Entertainment later published the work as a light novel series on July 16, 2018 under its Earth Star Novel label, before concluding on June 15, 2019. Four total volumes were released. The light novel’s Japanese title is Mushoku no Eiyuu: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakattan da ga.

A manga adaptation by Akio Nanae was launched in Comic Earth Star magazine on November 10, 2018. Nine tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2025. One Peace Books licensed the manga for release in English

In this world a goddess bestows each person with a class and skills that will determine one’s life direction. Despite being born the son of a Sword Princess and an Archmage, Arel has not received a class or skills.
