The official Twitter/X account of the Golden Kamuy anime series has revealed the addition of three new cast members for the Blu-ray anime OVA bundled with the Golden Kamuy: Tokushirou Tsurumi no Shukugan spinoff novel.
The novel, included with the OVA on advanced-order versions, is expected to be published and released in Japan on October 17, 2025. The new novel, along with the OVA Blu-ray, is up for order in Japan until August 18, 2025. A short new commercial for the OVA was also released.
Koichi Yamadera and Kotono Mitsuishi will voice the characters Keiichiro Sakamoto (left), and O-gin (right) respectively, who are the core characters of the “Inazuma Goto to Mamushi no Ogin” story arc.
Meanwhile, voice actress Ikue Otani is voicing the bird character Shimaenaga in the “Shima-enaga” mini episode.
The 30-minute OVA adapts the manga’s “Inazuma Goto to Mamushi no Ogin” (or what the wikia labels as “The Lightning Bandit and O-Gin the Viper”) and “Shima-enaga” arcs. Shizutaka Sugahara is credited as chief director for the OVA, after serving in the role in the anime’s fourth season, while Brain’s Base is once again the animation production company.
Golden Kamuy: Tokushiro Tsurumi no Shukugan, which is published under Shueisha’s Jump J Books label, will follow the 7th Division during the Russo-Japanese War. The 308-page book is written by mystery novelist Amon Ibuki, while the manga’s original creator Satoru Noda is credited with the illustrations.
Noda’s Golden Kamuy manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump from August 21, 2014 to April 38, 2022. A total of 31 tankobon volumes were released. VIZ Media publishes the manga in English.
A TV anime adaptation began in 2018, which will be getting a fifth season titled Golden Kamuy: The Final Chapter.
