Scholastic has announced that it will release Shadow Warrior: A Spider-Man Manga under its Graphix imprint on September 16, 2025.

The original manga is written and illustrated by artist Shogo Aoki, who has worked on the currently serialized Goblin Slayer Side Story II: Dai Katana — a spinoff manga adaptation of Goblin Slayer that has released eight tankobon volumes in Japan as of February 2025 and is released in English by Yen Press. He also drew a Japan limited variant cover for Amazing Spider-man #12 for Tokyo Comic Con 2018.

Scholastic describes Shadow Warrior: A Spider-Man Manga as:

This cool new manga stars several iconic characters, including a reimagined Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy, who travel to feudal Japan to take on Kingpin.

Travel to a parallel universe where the shogunate still rules Japan and the evil Kingpin, Wilson Fisk, has fled America to establish himself as Governor of Edo. Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Ghost-Spider are hot on his trail. But the Kingpin has a trick up his sleeve—he’s brought an alien parasite capable of granting extraordinary powers. When a young man named Hyo accidentally bonds with the symbiote and seemingly transforms into the infamous Venom, things go from bad to worse! SHADOW WARRIOR is perfect for manga and super-hero fans alike!

Scholastic’s Graphix imprint has released a select number of colored manga titles for middle grade readers in recent months, starting with the publication of a new Unico graphic novel series, as well as Hikaru in the Light and Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms
