Shogakukan’s NOVELOUS app has announced that voting is now underway for the “MyAnimeList x Honeyfeed Writing Contest” from now until July 24, 2025. All winners will be announced on August 4, 2025.
Judges have selected ten finalists from nearly 500 submissions, with the ten finalists’ works being featured on the NOVELOUS app. Fans across North America can now vote for their favorite original light novel within the NOVELOUS app and more details can be found on the contest’s official website.
In addition to having their work featured on NOVELOUS, three finalists will win a total of US$9,000. The prize breakdown is as follows:
- • US$3,000 — Highest-voted story in the “Love Transcends Boundaries” prompt category
- • US$3,000 — Highest-voted story in the “The End is Now” prompt category
- • US$3,000 — Light novel with the most votes overall from official event judges
The NOVELOUS app was first launched earlier this past January and is available on iOS and Android. It currently features English translations for over 80 popular light novel, manga, and webtoon series across various genres.
The Japanese Nikkei newspaper reported in July 2024, via Anime News Network, that NOVELOUS uses AI translation for its English releases, utilizing the Mantra translation system.
