A new character trailer has been released for the upcoming Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show TV anime series, showcasing the character Hastur. The series will begin broadcasting in Japan on July 1, 2025.  

Masato Matsune (The Stories of Girls Who Couldn’t Be Magicians) is directing the original anime series, with Makoto Uezu (KonoSuba) as story draft writer and screenwriter, Jiro Suzuki (Revenger co-original character designer, Umineko no Naku Koro ni: Episode 2: Turn of the golden witch manga artist) as original character designer, Hiroshi Kosuga as character designer and chief animation director, and Evan Call (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as music composer. Studio Gokumi is in charge of the animation production, while Cygames is producing the series. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast stars:

  • • Manaka Iwami as Cthulhu and Mayu Mayusaka
  • • Hiroki Yasumoto as Game Master

Crunchyroll will be streaming Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show worldwide, outside of Japan. It describes the main synopsis of the series as: 

Miko Kurono, also known as Necronomico, graduates from middle school and decides to pursue her dreams of becoming a streamer. One day, as she’s with her childhood friend, Mayu Mayusaka, and her rival, Kanna Kagurasaka, she accepts an offer to play a new VR game. The game gives Miko the opportunity to take on mysterious challenges with other unique streamers she meets within the VR world.
