The Shabake TV anime has received its first trailer and visual.

Other new reveals include:

• An October premiere window
Koji Okino‘s casting as Nikichi
Taku Yashiro‘s casting as Sasuke
Kujira‘s “Inochi no Parade” as the opening theme song

Shabake is based on a historical fantasy novel series written by Megumi Hatakenaka and published under the Shinchosha Bunko label. The protagonist Ichitaro is the sickly young master of a large store in Edo-era Japan who is watched over by supernatural beings. When Ichitaro sneaks out one night, he ends up witnessing a murder. More killings follow, causing Ichitaro to embark on an investigation with the help of his supernatural allies. 

The book series was an Excellence Award recipient at the 13th Nihon Fantasy Novel Taishou in 2001.
