Wind Breaker‘s physical altercations are coming to Japanese theaters, in live-action, in November 2025.
The live-action movie adaptation of the Satoru Nii manga was announced with a super teaser video and a first look image, providing light appetizers of what the film will be like.
Its director, per Comic Natalie, is Kentaro Hagiwara, whose credits include the live-action Tokyo Ghoul and Blue Period films. Penning the scripts is Yosuke Masaike (A Girl & Her Guard Dog live-action movie).
The reveal of the live-action film coincides with the end of the Wind Breaker anime’s second season, which ran for 12 episodes throughout the Spring 2025 anime season. The first season premiered on April 4, 2024.
The original Kodansha-published manga started serialization on Magazine Pocket since 2021 and has 22 volumes as of June 2025. Kodansha USA describes the Wind Breaker manga as:
Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s from Fuurin High School, a school of near-dropout degenerates known only for their brawling strength. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka’s got only one goal—become the hero his town deserves.
