A fourth new teaser visual has been revealed for the upcoming The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest TV anime series, highlighting the character Ornest Rain. The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in October 2025.
Masaaki Mizunaka will be voicing Ornest and is joining the overall voice cast. This is the fourth and last teaser visual to be released ahead of the anime’s debut date, with previous visuals showcasing Alec, Yorha, and Krasia.
Mizunaka joins a previously announced voice cast that includes Shuichiro Umeda as Alec Ygret, Yurika Kubo as Yorha Eisenz, and Masumi Tazawa as Krasia Annerose.
Ken Takahashi (Ragna Crimson) is directing the anime series, with Masamune Hirata (A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero ED and Ep 11 director) as assistant director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Flower and Asura) as series screenwriter, Yoko Sato (I’m in Love with the Villainess character designer and co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Nobuhide Hayashi (A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero) as sub-character designer. Gekko is in charge of the animation production.
The anime adaptation is based on the light novel series written by Alto and illustrated by Yunagi. It was first published by Kodansha’s K Ranove Books imprint on August 2, 2021 and has released five volumes as of August 2024. The original web novel started on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website on October 11, 2020 and has also inspired a manga adaptation by Yuki Monji.
K Manga releases the manga adaptation of The Banished Court Magician Aims to Become the Strongest in English digitally, describing the main synopsis as:
“I don’t need a worthless mage who can only use support magic. You’re fired.”
Alec, a court magician who supported the crown prince from behind the scenes, suddenly finds himself exiled from the royal court. Now jobless, he pays the magic academy a visit and runs into Yorha, one of his party members from his school days. Their renowned party once set a record in the royal dungeon—and now it’s time to reunite and start a whole new legend!
