A main trailer and key visual for the New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt anime have descended on our realm, along with the announcements of a July 4 premiere at Anime Expo 2025 and a July 9 JST (effectively July 10 at 1 AM JST) Japanese broadcast premiere date.
The Japanese broadcast and streaming details reveal that the show will have a “CENSORED” version and an “original” version (the latter will be broadcast on AT-X). According to a press release, the July 4 Anime Expo screening (which will take place at the Peacock Theater at 8:30 PM) is an “18+” affair, while a censored screening will take place at the same event on July 5 (408AB at 6:30 PM).
The same press release reveals that New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt will be streamed exclusively on Prime Video on July 9. The Japanese version of the anime’s website says that it will also be available on other streaming platforms, although it seems Prime Video will be the first to deliver new episodes.
New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is the follow-up to the 2010 Gainax-produced Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. The premise is described as:
A HYPER-CRAZY, BATTLE-ACTION, HUMAN COMEDY DRAMA starring the BITCH ANGEL SISTERS on a rampage!
In Daten City, a realm between heaven and hell, sinister spirits known as “Ghosts” prowl the streets, feeding on human desires and resentment.
Yet, in the darkest moments, two figures emerge to obliterate these vengeful beings with a divine light beyond human understanding.
Their names? Panty & Stocking!
These fallen angel sisters have been tasked with purging the darkness engulfing the earth.
