Fermat no Ryori Reveals New Main Visual & Trailer Featuring Opening Theme featured image

A new main key visual and trailer have been revealed for the upcoming Fermat no Ryori TV anime series, which features the show’s opening theme song. The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 5, 2025.

The anime’s opening theme “Maillard” by OSHIKIKEIGO is highlighted in the new trailer. 

Kazuya Ichikawa (Burning Kabaddi, Touken Ranbu Kai: Doden Chikashi Haberau Monora, and Bakugan: Legends) is directing the anime series, with Miyuki Kaieda (Burning Kabaddi) as assistant director, Takeshi Okamoto (Touken Ranbu Kai: Doden Chikashi Haberau Monora co-sub character designer) and Satsuki Kashiwagi (Touken Ranbu Kai: Doden Chikashi Haberau Monora co-sub character designer) as character designers and chief animation directors, and Satoshi Igarashi (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) as music composer. Domerica is in charge of the animation production and is writing the series screenplay and scripts. Ichikawa also serves as president at the company. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast stars:

  • • Anna Nagase as Ayu Uomi
  • • Daichi Endo as Katsuya Hotei
  • • Takuma Nagatsuka as Milo Vivia

  • • Tatsumaru Tachibana as Magoroku Inui
  • • Haruna Ikezawa as Nene Fukuda
  • • Shion Wakayama as Kagura Musashi
  • • Makoto Furukawa as Ichitaro Hirose

The anime is based on the cooking manga series by AOASHI’s Yugo Kobayashi that began serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine on September 6, 2018. Five tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2025. 

The manga also inspired a 10-episode live-action TV drama series from TBS that aired in 2023.

Fermat no Ryori follows an aspiring mathematician named Gaku Kitada, who takes a part-time job at his academy’s cafeteria after hitting some career setbacks. A chance meeting with the young and talented chef Kai Asakura takes him on a new path where math and cuisine intersect.
