Two new additional monster visuals have been unveiled for the upcoming third season of One-Punch Man, which is scheduled to begin broadcasting in Japan in October 2025.
The latest monsters highlighted are the formless Evil Mineral Water and the terrifying Gums. Previous pairs of visuals for Monster King Orochi/Gyoro-Gyoro and Nyaan/Overgrown Pochi were also released in the past few months.
The production team for the third season includes some returning staff from the second season. They include Tomohiro Suzuki as screenwriter, Chikashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2 Episode 4 and 5 prop design assistant), Ryosuke Shirakawa (Tsurune, Spy x Family Season 1, A Silent Voice key animator) as character designers, and Makoto Miyazaki as music composer. J.C.STAFF is in charge of the animation production after working on the second season.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:
- • Makoto Furukawa as Saitama
- • Kaito Ishikawa as Genos
- • Daisuke Namikawa as Dr. Genus
- • Hikaru Midorikawa as Garo
VIZ Media announced the license acquisition of One-Punch Man’s third season late last month, which includes rights in multiple countries and territories across North America, Latin America, and Oceania.
The first season was directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse, airing in 2015. A second season was released in 2019 and was directed by Chikara Sakurai at J.C.STAFF. Crunchyroll streamed both series worldwide, outside of Japan.
The anime is based on the superhero action manga series written by ONE and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. It has been serialized on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump since June 14, 2012 and has released 33 tankobon volumes as of April 2025. The manga started as a self-published work that was released on the Japanese manga website Nitosha in 2009.
VIZ describes the main synopsis of the One-Punch Man season three as:
Saitama is a hero who only became a hero for fun.
After three years of ‟special training,” he’s become so strong that he’s practically invincible. In fact, he’s too strong—even his mightiest opponents are taken out with a single punch. Alongside Genos, his faithful disciple, Saitama performs his official hero duties as a member of the Hero Association.
One day, monsters claiming to be from the Monster Association suddenly appeared, taking a child of Hero Association executive hostage. The S-class heroes gather and plan a raid on the Monster Association hideout to rescue the hostage. Meanwhile, Garou, a ‟human monster” who was taken by the Monster Association during a battle with the heroes, awakens in the Monster Association hideout.
