The Sanda TV anime has received a second teaser trailer, which reveals an October 3 JST Japanese broadcast premiere date. However, the anime will premiere before that at Anime Expo 2025 on July 4, with a panel featuring the manga’s creator Paru Itagaki, director Tomohisa Shimoyama, and producer Kohei Sakita.
Aside from the premiere dates, there are some new cast announcements:
• Umeka Shoji as Shiori Fuyumura
• Anna Nagase as Ono
• Yuki Shin as Hitoshi Amaya
• Misato Matsuoka as Niko Kazao
The near-future-set story of Sanda sees the boy Sanda suddenly threatened by a classmate whose friend has gone missing, and discovering that he can transform into a well-built Santa Claus-like form. The manga began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion in 2021 and released its 16th and final tankoubon volume on October 2024.
