Two more new cast members are joining the upcoming second season of DAN DA DAN. The second season is expected to premiere on Japanese television and on Netflix on July 3, 2025. Crunchyroll will also begin streaming season two this coming July.
The new cast members include Hiroyuki Yoshino as Manjiro, a priest, and Naomi Ozora as Chiquitita, the son of the Dover Demon.
They join the anime’s main voice cast for season two, which includes:

Abel Gongora (Season 1’s opening animation storyboard artist and director) joins first season director Fuga Yamashiro as co-director for the second season. Other staff include Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Naoyuki Onda (MF Ghost, Inuyashiki) as character designer, Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100 character designer) as alien and yokai designer, Satoshi Hashimoto (Spy x Family Season 1) and Makiho Kondo (“Tokyo Clone” music video) as color designers, Junichi Higashi (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2) as background art director, Kazuto Izumita (Great Pretender) as composting director, and Kensuke Ushio (Tengoku-Daimakyo, The Heike Story). Science SARU is in charge of the animation production.
The second season’s premiere will be preceded by a theatrical release of the first three episodes titled DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE. GKIDS will screen both the original Japanese language with English subtitles and English dub version, starting June 6, 2025.
Season one of DAN DA DAN aired for 12 episodes during the Fall 2024 anime season. Crunchyroll and Netflix streamed the first season worldwide, outside of Japan.
The anime is based on the sci-fi occult manga series by Yukinobu Tatsu, which debuted on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ on April 6, 2021 and has released 19 tankobon volumes as of April 2025. A 20th volume will be released in Japan on July 4, 2025.
Viz Media releases the DAN DA DAN manga series in English, describing the main synopsis as:
Momo Ayase strikes up an unusual friendship with her school’s UFO fanatic, whom she nicknames “Okarun” because he has a name that is not to be said aloud. While Momo believes in spirits, she thinks aliens are nothing but nonsense. Her new friend, meanwhile, thinks the exact opposite. To settle matters, the two set out to prove each other wrong—Momo to a UFO hotspot and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What unfolds next is a beautiful story of young love…and oddly horny aliens and spirits?
