The upcoming Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show TV anime has received a main trailer and the announcement of a July 1 JST premiere date, with the former revealing the existence of Princess Cthulhu and other evil gods who seek the end of humanity.

While the true nature of the anime’s story was previously hidden, the new trailer and story description explains that protagonist Miko will find herself participating in a VR game that’s actually a death game concocted by Cthulhu. The preview also shows Miko being enraged by Cthulhu’s likeness to her partner Mayu, who is one of multiple popular streamers who mysteriously lost their consciousness.

Also revealed were Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show‘s key visual, theme songs, and new casting announcements. The latter includes:

Manaka Iwami as Cthulhu (Iwami also voices Mayu)
Hiroki Yasumoto 
Kazuyuki Okiri
Katsuyuki Konishi
Ayasa Ito

The theme songs are VTuber Ryushen‘s “Kakushouron” (opening) and Vell feat. Noa (from Colorful Peach)’s “PANDORA” (ending).

Additionally, the characters Zhar and Lloigar will be debuting as VTubers. In the story, they are assistant directors of the Cosmic Horror Show.
