A key visual for the upcoming Grand Blue Dreaming Season 2 anime has been released.

The visual was released on May 24 JST and made to be “diving-like” due to the date being commemorated as Scuba Diving Day in Japan, a result of Japanese wordplay making the numbers sound like the English words “Go (5) To (2) Sea (4).” (Another given reason for May 24 being Scuba Diving Day is geologist and oceanographer Robert Sinclair Dietz introducing diving equipment to Japan on that date in 1953.)

Grand Blue Dreaming Season 2 is set to premiere on July 7 JST. It is based on the Kodansha-published manga written by Kenji Inoue and drawn by Kimitake Yoshioka, which Kodansha USA describes as:

After moving out on his own to a seaside town, Iori Kitahara makes a college debut he never anticipated. A new chapter of his life unfolds, full of diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a gaggle of lovable bastards! Idiot-expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale filled with booze-fueled antics!

The manga started serialization in Good! Afternoon in 2014 and has 24 volumes as of April 2025. The anime’s first season aired in 2018.
