The free-to-play action RPG Tribe Nine is set to end service on November 27, 2025 JST. The announcement comes only a few months after its launch in February 2025.
Planned additions to the Akatsuki Games-developed title, including its fourth chapter and the characters Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, will not be making their way into the game. Upcoming fixes and adjustments are also cancelled, and sales of the Paid Enigma Entity currency and Daily Passes are no more as well.
Refunds for the Paid Enigma Entities will start after the conclusion of Support Contract – Revenio, but Enigma Entities will still be “available for use.”
Regarding the shutdown, the announcement simply said, “Since the game’s launch, the development and operation teams have strived to provide excellent service and improve player experience. However, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to end the game’s service.”
Tribe Nine was released for Steam, iOS, and Android. The official description reads:
Fight for freedom and survive the dangerous streets of Neo-Tokyo. Form a mighty trio of troubled teens, each with their own personalities, as well as strengths and skills to level up. Engage in life-or-death battles against warring juvenile tribes, massive mechs, and mysterious enemies across the dystopian cityscape. Help local city-dwellers across sidequests, and unfold an ever-growing adventure with free updates to the main story.
The game is part of a media-mix project that includes a 2022 anime and a webtoon that was released on HykeComic. According to the old project website, the game’s production credits include Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka (original drafts), TookyoGames (scenario supervision), and the Danganronpa series’ Rui Komatsuzaki and Shimadoriru (original character designs).
