The first Ace of the Diamond Act II aired from 2019 to 2020. That series was itself a follow-up to two previous anime, Ace of the Diamond and Ace of the Diamond -Second Season-. The anime are based on the Kodansha-published manga by Yuji Terajima (titled Daiya no Ace in Japanese) and its sequel Ace of the Diamond Act II. Kodansha USA describes the original manga as;

Eijun Sawamura had his heart set on the middle-school national baseball championships. But his team is eliminated thanks to a wild pitch thrown by Eijun himself. He’s planning to go to high school with his teammates and try again next year when he’s scouted by the famous Seido High School Baseball team. When he goes for a campus visit, he finds himself on the receiving end of a baptism by fire! His experience forming a battery with up-and-coming catcher Miyuki rekindles his passion for baseball!!

The first two anime were Madhouse and Production IG co-productions, while Ace of the Diamond Act II was only produced by Madhouse. Mitsuyuki Masuhara directed all three with Kenji Konuta as series composer. Minoru Ueta has a character designer credit on all the seasons but shared the credit with Satoshi Tasaki, who was chief animation director for Ace of the Diamond and Ace of the Diamond -Second Season-, on the third.

Ryota Osaka voices Eijun Sawamura.

The manga were serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, with Ace of the Diamond debuting in 2006. Ace of the Diamond Act II released its 34th and final volume in May 2023.
